Today I am going to show how to make Crushed Red Pepper Flakes “मसीनो खोर्सानीको टुक्रा” at home.

Here are Crushed Red Pepper’s most common usage: Pizza, Chatpate, Curried & Creamed Dishes, Spaghetti Sauce, omelets, salad dressings, chowders, Pickling, etc.

Here is the ingredient (adjust per size).

  1. Dried Red Peppers “रातो खोर्सानी”: 3.03 oz (or 86g) and a mixer (blender).

WARNING! Must have enough ventilation or your windows, doors, etc. should be opened when you start this. Be extra CAUTIOUS when you have child at home. It has very strong smell.

To make it easy to crush, leave outside in a bright sunlight. This step is optional. Well dried peppers are easy to crush and lasts longer.

This popular condiment enhances taste of common dishes such as lentils soup (Daal – दाल), pickles (अचार), chatpate (चटपटे), pizza (पिज्जा), etc. by many times. etc. Let’s get started.

I can tell by the pops, it’s super dried. DO NOT run the blender for too long. Check every 5 to 7 seconds until crushed to your liking. Otherwise it will be be be too small like powder.

I ran it for 15 seconds and lets see how it looks. It looks the way I wanted it to be.

Let’s pour it out. Smell is very strong and it’s little hard to breath. Store in an air-tight container to preserve it for a long time. It just looks like the one from stores, but much fresher and cheaper!
